Re: if you could turn the clock back ,would you have gone to university
In theory yes, having a degree would give me a great opportunity to earn a living at something I love and enjoy, rather than just doing what earns me my money.

I left school at 16 and was soon in the money markets, I just wanted to earn my own coin and hated formal education, so given the decision again I'd still struggle with it even though I'd know that University would be the way to go.

Re: if you could turn the clock back ,would you have gone to university
By the time I left school I was obsessed with West Ham and so uni wasn't an option as I needed stone cold hard cash to pay for the away games.

Don't regret it as a load of mates were at uni and so I still managed to get the uni piss up's with them.

Re: if you could turn the clock back ,would you have gone to university
I did, and I still would.

Great times, and handy for learning to stand on your own two feet.

However, the level of debt now is outrageous (which would be my main reason for perhaps not going) and a university degree doesn't qualify you for much or count for much now unless you specifically do something like law or medicine in perparation for a specific career. Lots of degrees seem quite 'useless' nowadays and most of us could probably have walked into our jobs without one, although I suppose just the fact you have (any) degree looks good on a CV.

I think its the skills you pick up through doing a degree rather than the subject itself that prepare you, and a lot of uni's do work placements as part of your course too,

Its never too late. Iwent back at 32 and there were a couple on my course older than me.

If you're lucky you'll get to shag girls in their mid 20's. I recommend it.

It's never too late, I got my degree in social science recently. I can't say I enjoyed it, as regurgitating mind bending bollocks isn't my cup of tea, but the certificate looks nice.
